Sound of Colour You may not think colour has a sound, but five bands and five directors were able to create five music videos inspired by five different colours. What results was the Sound of Color, and the compilation will part of an online ad campaign by Gap. The Raveonettes, Dntel, Swizz Beatz, the Blakes and Marie Digby were asked to think of one word and express what it makes them think of or how that makes them feel. Shown in the above video is Marié Digby’s take on the colour yellow. She called it “a love song about the sun.” While at first a lot of people might expect something with a faster beat, the song is extremely warm and very mellow. Her music is accompanied by a video of Ellis Gallagher, a former NYC graffiti artist who now arms himself with chalk instead, highlighting details he finds interesting. In the music video, he goes through several parts of urban LA tracing shadows with pale yellow. After watching the video that goes along with it, it’s difficult to hear the tune without thinking of a sunny afternoon. Swizz Beatz for “Candy Green”
