The Nike Flyknit Racers Celebrate the 2020 Tokyo Olympics With Indigo Dye

With the 2016 Rio Olympics wrapping up, Nike is already anticipating the upcoming arrival of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with a release of a specially patriotic game sneakers in the Flynit Racer style. The shoes are adorned with a tailored Indigo dye that encapsulates Japanese culture and Traditional shibori.

Japan is well-known for utilizing indigo dyes and shibori techniques in many of its cultural murals and artwork, which Nike draws upon for inspiration behind its special edition Flyknit Racer shoes. The sneakers feature the tightly knit fabric in a white and indigo threading that is carried throughout the upper for added ventilation. The shoes also include the brand's name printed in Japanese writing, called Katakana.

The sneakers pay tribute to Japanese art and culture for the upcoming sport games.
