Electronic Interface Sinks - High-Tech Trough Sink (GALLERY)

Designer Anne Kitzmiller, in collaboration with plumbing and appliances giant Kohler, developed this trough prep sink. The sink is a high-tech device with an electronic interface and garbage disposal synchronization. It also has a controlled rinse cycle with color coded alert buttons.
I have mixed feelings about this design. This trough container, which resembles a gutter, is limited in the way you can use it because of its narrow shape. I don’t quite like it.
Using Active Touch technology to develop a safe interface that is only activated by human touch, eliminating the chance of accidental activation by a pot, pan or other kitchen item.
The short rinse cycle is indicated by a constant blue glow and the synchronized garbage disposal cycle is indicated by a flashing blue glow.
