Fur-Free Cole Haan - Nike Subsidiary to Stop Selling Fur by Fall 2008
PETA must be really proud with the outcome of its radical campaigns as another retailer has promised to stop using fur in its products. Cole Haan is the latest retailer to have pledged to go fur-free. By Fall 2008, consumers will witness an animal-loving, fur-free Cole Haan.
According to the Nike subsidiary, “For both business and sustainability reasons, we ... [worked] with our suppliers and vendors to discontinue [fur] in our product line, effective Fall 2008.” Currently Cole Haan is selling coats and gloves that use mink as well as gloves lined with rabbit fur.
Cole Haan and Nike are set to join Kenneth Cole, Ann Taylor, Express, Gap, Banana Republic, Polo Ralph Lauren, Forever 21, American Eagle Outfitters, and Calvin Klein in their advocacy to stop selling fur.
