The 'From the Back Seat of My Car' photo series makes people forget about the devastating beauty of dilapidated buildings and instead brings their attention to abandoned automobiles. Overgrown with wild plants, rusted by wind and rain, these vehicles have been "ravaged by time and reclaimed by nature," as PSFK so aptly puts it.
Captured by Netherlands-based photographer Alicia Rius, the From the Back Seat of My Car photo series may seem dark and damaged at first, but upon closer inspection there is an untamed beauty about each vehicle that strips away the man-made qualities they originally had. Rius writes, "I never looked for these cars, and in fact, I think they found me. I wanted to immortalize their beauty and turn them into something romantic."
