GM will give free EV charging stations to the first 4,400 US purchasers of the Chevrolet Volt electric car. The promotion is in response to Federal grants awarded to incentivize the purchase electric cars by installing home charge stations when a new electric car is purchased.

The Chevrolet Volt will include free EV charging stations and home installation as part of GM’s promotion. Of the 4,400 home charge stations, 2,600 will come from ECOtality’s EV Project and 1,800 from Coulomb Technolgies’ ChargePoint America project.
