The invention of a working Folding Wheel is impressive. Developed by Vitamins, a design firm based in London, England, it took years to perfect the design. Failed prototype after failed prototype forced them to think of the problem in a new way. Every time, it was the tire that exploded under weight and contortion. Thus, the Folding Wheel had to address the folding of the tire, not the wheel itself. The result is a solid tire rather than an inflated one that can endure the contortions of the Folding Wheel.
Perfect for both bicycles and wheelchairs, the Folding Wheel makes portability much more easy. Not to mention that people can tote an extra wheel around in case of emergencies. Interestingly, the bike version is near unattainable while the wheelchair model, produced by Maddak, will be available to the masses.
