An old French tradition called 'Globe de Mariée' dates back to the 1800s and requires a married couple to preserve mementos from their wedding day, which includes baby hair, jewelry, photographs and floral crowns.

Inspired by this romantic idea, HonestlyWTF has created a way for everyone to recreate one’s own little floral crown memento at half the cost. You can make a waxed floral crown yourself perhaps for your own wedding or midsummer celebration.

The idea of coating the paper flowers with wax makes the crown more durable, vibrant and formal, so for this DIY, all you'll need is 180 gram florist crepe paper, 2 pieces of 18 gauge green floral wire, glue, scissors, cutters, ribbon, a wax melting pot, beeswax and a paintbrush.
