Variety is reporting that The First Wives Club is being musically adapted for the Chicago stage.
To refresh your memory, The First Wives Club is the fantastic 1996 film that follows the lives of three divorced friends who decide to seek vengeance on their ex-husbands, all of whom left them for younger women. The film starred Hollywood heavyweights Bette Midler, Diane Keaton and Goldie Hawn. Their iconic roles will be taken over by Faith Prince, Carmen Cusack and Christine Sherrill in the musical. The screenplay will be rewritten by Linda Bloodworth-Thomason and directed by Simon Phillips.
