First Edition Sportscars on Auction (GALLERY)
[Edit]
Number 1 is what everybody is after, right? Copy number one often has a higher price then the following copies. And it doesn’t seem to matter whether that is a stamp or a brand new sports car.
The Barret Jackson 2008 auction is the place where car collectors sell and buy their cars. Three #1 copies of top American sportscar where sold at the auction for a few extra bucks.
The 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT-8 with a 6.1 liter HEMI engine, a retro version of the 1970’s Dodge Challenger, was sold for $400.000. It has a bagde on the dash that says #1. But that wasn’t the only one. The first copy of the 2009 Shelby GT 500 sold for over $600.000 and the 2009 Corvette ZR-1 sold for over one million dollars. The profit of the auction went to the notMYkid organisations that tries to understand youth behaviour (isn’t that part of what we are doing here on TrendHunter?).
