Ever since the Live Earth concert, songstress Fergie has been humming a different tune. Overcome with a new sense of awareness for the planet, the celeb has decided to sell her high-emission Hummer and donate all proceeds to Global Green USA. What’s the difference if she’s driving it or someone else? The pollution is the same, right? Almost, but not quite.

The Black Eyed Peas singer chose GGU because she supports the fund that fights climate change, weapons of mass destruction and addresses the world’s clean water needs.

“The charity is donating carbon emission credits for 10 years to offset the impact, and in addition, it is using the money to work on the important issue of climate change,” AutoBlogGreen wrote. “So, for the next decade, this particular Hummer won’t be doing any CO2 damage to the planet, at least in the indulgence sense.”
