While viewers are certain to hear some doubtful children, the bold and resounding "no" that the kids respond with is quite shocking and raises concerns regarding gender stereotyping.
Perhaps of most concern are the thought-out reasons the children give for why a female Santa couldn't do the same job as a man. Worries like the baby crushing the presents, a lack of physical strength and getting lost in the night sky are among some of the top responses. While retaining some humor, the ad playfully showcases the fact that gender stereotypes begin influencing children from a young age. The ad successfully raises awareness about this while supporting Anomaly's recent work for Elle UK's #MoreWomen Campaign, which emphasizes the need for more female role models.
