While there are a lot of other travel apps geared towards booking destinations, connecting with other travelers and trip organization, this one is aimed at passengers who have a fear of flying.

The ANA Takeoff Mode app from Japanese airline All Nippon Airways (ANA) is designed to reduce anxiety by occupying the mind while an aircraft leaves land. The app involves relaxing music and a puzzle game that increases with difficulty and requires more concentration as time goes on. Additionally, the app will request permission to access a phone or tablet's microphone to sense ambient noise from the aircraft taking off, and counter it with a reassuring animation on-screen. Since passengers can't control whether takeoffs and landings will be smooth, this app provides a welcome distraction.
