Ghazale Restaurant, a Canadian-based Middle Eastern resturant has rolled an interesting ad campaign. With slogans like, ‘Shwarmas just like dad used to make, cus mom wasn’t allowed to,’ ‘Now serving women,’ and ‘The only thing better than two falafels is three wives.’ I am confused as to what the message (if any)really is. Are they celebrating women liberation or promoting multiple-wives? In any case, I digg the style of the ads which were concocted by Cossette Communications advertising agency, Toronto, Canada. Advertising mom not being allowed to make shwarma and three wives being better than two falafel, I don't think is anybodys idea of women's liberation. I'm surpised and shocked that this is being used in Canada. |

Hence my '?', the shwarma (note: past tense 'wasnt allowed' ) and 'now serving women' are good IMO. It's the 3 wives one I don't get or like, even if its really funny. And I miss falafel/ shwarma, the island I am living in has no arabic food! |
