The F-35 Helmet Offers a Mounted Display for Hyper-Awareness

The 'F-35 Helmet' is designed to provide Air Force fighter pilots with the tools to increase their situational awareness dramatically, using a futuristic projected display.

Costing $400,000 apiece, the F-35 Helmet has a wide range of features that includes night vision, a microphone for voice commands, as well as the projected display that provides information regarding flight information -- and also shows a 360-degree view of the plane's surroundings.

While the F-35 Helmet offers a wide variety of uses, it is incredibly lightweight at just 5.4 pounds and is customized for the pilot using 3D scanning to offer the most accurate shape and ensure maximum comfort. As Gizmodo reports, the price of the helmet includes the computer system it is connected to within the plane which has control of the weapons, cameras and more.
