Fashion designers have taken notice of our desire to meander about in comfort and have added their own fresh and unique schemes to flat footwear. 

Gladiator sandals are hot, hot, hot!  Taking advantage of this latest “blast from the past” inspired trend are designer extraordinaires’ Jasper Conran and Paul Smith.

From lace-ups to bows and slip-ons, designer genius Eley Kishimoto presents eye-flattering flats that look nothing like “Granny Slippers” or gardening shoes.  Moreover, these cute and adorable flats are adaptable to the day or nightlife.

The absolute best part of flats being popular is that you need not be rich and famous to be stylish this season.  You can easily dress up inexpensive flats with shoe glues, shoe stamps, shoe glitter, and whatever else you come across in your store’s craft section.  Create “knock-off” designer shoes or add your own artistic expressions…anything goes.

High heels are great for the nightlife and the office but not for rushing around from one place to the other.  Flat shoes are better suited for running everyday errands.  They also save our backs from those jolts of shock we feel at the end of the day at the expense of having worn high heels.
