With the viral buzz about the Twilight premiere and its stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, vampires, goth and morbid themes are stretching beyond the time of Halloween and finding their way into fashion magazines.

The November 2008 issue of Elle Italia features a captivating morbid editorial entitled Evoluzione della specie (Evolution of The Species).

In the editorial, model Kristen Stewart was captured by photographer Ruven Afanador alongside numerous skeletons in what looks like an awesome biology classroom.

You can check out the Elle Italia November 2008 cover featuring model Christina Kruse by Photographer Matt Jones in the last picture of the gallery.

I find the huge difference in quality and content between the Italian and American versions of publications such as Vogue and Elle very striking. The American versions look tame and boring compared to the Italian counterparts. Now imagine if V Magazine had an Italian version…
