The Winter 2008 issue of Hong Kong magazine Privé Asia features an unusual editorial that tackles the issue of Western evangelists coming over to Asian countries and trying to preach and convert the people.

The result is a rather intriguing editorial entitled “The Evangelist” that showcases couture fashion pieces with a religious twist added to the theme.

The black-and-white editorial features model Elyse Sewell captured by photographer Baldovino Barani with styling by Holly Suan Gray.

You are right! She was the 'smart' atheist one in the first season. I didnt even recognize her here. I didnt know she really got into the modeling biz for real. Good for her.

@Marissa and Ayman, interesting and insightful discussion you have going on. New trend? Atheists as evangelists? Never mind, unfortunately militant atheists cause me to shudder (even as an unbeliever) with their in-your-face approach, in the same way protestant evangelicals. Example: I bought a book of myths last year and was lectured at our B&N;store by a King James Version only Bible believer -- he followed my children and I to our car!

Nah, its not a trend. I doubt the model had a hand in the creative direction of an expensive shoot. Usually its the magazine creative director and the photographer. I just found it funny because on the modeling show her being Atheist was a part that was played big and other Christian models on the show were preaching to her, so I found it funny she is in the editorial. Irony!
