The Energy Belt by Iosa Ghini Associati is a solar-powered monorail designed for Bologna, Italy, and not only is it great for the earth, it also has tremendous aesthetic appeal.

Designed to connect the airport to the city center, the Energy Belt is sleek and sculpted, with sinuous lines that run above the countryside. It runs on solar energy that are captured through panels at each monorail station, and each station also has a metal screen covered in vegetation that protects passengers from the elements and filters the air.
