Entropy Solutions’ Greenbox insulated shipping case protects temperature sensitive products, such as pharmaceuticals, vaccines, blood samples, transplants and other up till 5 days, two times as long as any other no-energy consuming refrigerating shipping device. The packaging system consists of three components: a corrugated shipping case made from high-density polyethylene, Thermo-Lock insulating panels and E(25) biodegradable, free of carbon emission phase-changing material converted in rigid plastic E-packs or flexible pillow pouches. The sustainable components of this packaging system make it feasible to use the box some 100 times. Entropy offers at this moment 3 standard sizes, 288 cu-in (4,719 ltr), 600 cu-in (9,832 ltr) and 1,156 cu-in (18,943 ltr). The company guarantees an indisputable performance of 72 hours for the small and medium box and 96 hours for the largest size. A 30 days shipping case, which could act as a mobile vaccine station, is expected to come soon. The used nanotechnology with its minuscule pores in the carbon silica delays the transfer of heat or cold with which the Thermo-Lok panels obtain a R-value of 40. Phase-changing material shifts from a liquid to a solid state or vice versa at pre-set temperatures, allowing different combinations of the colour coded E-packs or pillow pouches to satisfy any specific temperature range. With the Greenbox temperature sensitive products can be transported over longer distances and during a longer time without the necessity of refrigerated transport and eliminating the need for couriers services or overnight transport.
