The young electro-pop singer Little Boots is tipped as the number one highlight in the music industry for this year. She is the first pick of BBC’s ‘Sound of 2009’ list, which can only mean one thing: She’ll attain pop-star diva status, stat! The ‘Sound of 2009’ list is comprised of the top new acts as selected by 134 leading UK tastemakers. Their picks for last year—Adele, Duffy, The Ting Tings, and Glasvegas—all became household names. Little Boots is Victoria Hesketh, a 24-year-old singer, keyboard player and writer from Blackpool. Her influences are David Bowie, Gary Numan and Kate Bush.
