The UK's Office for Low Emission Vehicles is going to start subsidizing electric two-wheeler vehicles, making them more attractive options for purchase by citizens.

As this project gets going, it is hoped that the environmental footprint of vehicular traffic will be reduced. The presence of two-wheelers also means reduced congestion and greater availability of parking space. Owners of these electric two-wheelers will also be able to escape certain taxes such as Congestion Charges and Work Place Parking Levies, making for a more financially friendly alternative.

This project shows that governments have well and truly realized the importance of getting people to embrace electric travel. The offer of subsidized electric two-wheelers is sure to make some people take a more eco-friendly option as opposed to driving cars.
