Al Gore and the Hollywood names behind his Dot Eco LLC have applied for a .eco domain registration for the Internet that would be used to denote green and eco-friendly companies. According to TreeHugger, a portion of each sale would go towards “environmentally charitable causes,†although it's not specified how those causes will be selected.
It'll take another year or so for the results of Gore's .eco domain registration request to be publicized,
Implications - Modern society poses so many harms to the environment that consumers are beginning to look for more ways to protect the planet than ever before. Developing more green-friendly products could help a company increase its appeal.
