Japan's Eco Cycle Underground Lot Protects Bikes From Being Damaged or Stolen

One of the main concerns commuters and bikers face is that upon returning to their parked bicycle after work or school, their bike has been vandalized or stolen, but Japan's Eco Cycle bike parking lot provides an easy solution.

The underground parking lot can house up to 200 bikes and requires nothing more than some spare change and a tap to retrieve. Once commuters arrive at one of Eco Cycle lots, cyclists can roll their bikes onto the automated machine, which then transports the bike to a safe underground parking lot. A ticket is then dispensed, which users will use to retrieve their two-wheelers for the ride home. Eco Cycle not only protects the cyclists' bikes from being damaged by unruly strangers but also eliminates a significant amount of clutter above ground as well.
