NASA has managed to capture the most mind-blowing photographs of earth at night, and once you see them you will be in awe.
Never before have we been able to see such incredible images of the earth as it appears after dark, and these high-resolution images takes us on a tour of cities around the world.
To take these earth-orbiting photographs the crew on the International Space Station needed to engineer a camera that was capable of manually canceling out the orbital motion in which the space station travels. Astronaut Don Pettit built a custom device out of spare parts.
