Björk is coming with a new album soon called Volta. The first concert will be in Iceland on April 9th but so far, nobody has heard anything from the album - or have they? A trendhunter in Iceland, where Björk comes from, came across this recording which is supposed to be 16 seconds of the first single, Earth Intruders, from her forthcoming album Volta.
"A spokesperson for the enigmatic Icelandic imp has confirmed that the bits and pieces on the web are genuinely from the recording sessions.
A YouTube user called VoltaVideos has posted a clip of what is likely to be the first single, 'Earth Intruders'. The visuals are mere abstractions, but Pitchfork surmised that the music is the "universal tribal beat" that Bjork discussed with them in a recent interview. Then a myspace user who claims to be visiting Iceland, dubbed itishardtofindbandnames, posted 20-second clips of electro squiggles and dropped many hints that they, and the attendant homemade myspace videos, are part of the forthcoming album.
This user "Gerome Voltaire" writes "What I'm presenting here at the moment is something I recorded at some listening session in Reykjavik with an Icelandic artist, which I then cut up and added noises and images to. I hope she doesn't mind." He promises more material from the sessions with this unnamed Icelandic female artist."
