E-paper as Backlight an Effective Ad Solution

Teraoka Seiko Co., Ltd. Japan has launched “Animation-POP,” an advertising medium utilizing electronic paper. The letters and characters printed on Animation-POP can be turned on and off without using any light source such as the LED and lamp. This advertising medium mainly includes three layers. The uppermost is a “display layer” printed with the letters and characters to be advertised. An electronic paper layer is disposed in the middle, and an electrode layer for driving the electronic paper is provided at the bottom. The electrodes are patterned in accordance with the shapes of the letters and characters printed on the display layer.  (New Launches)
