Japan always comes up with the idea to reduce traffic jams. We’ve heard about batteries powered tram by Kawasaki. Now, Hokkaido Railway Company has developed the dual-mode vehicle (DMV). It’s a hybrid minibus that can runs both on roads and railway tracks. With the extra wheels hidden under the chassis, the bus is able to run faster than a traditional bus once it’s on the railway track. Therefore, it’s easily to avoid traffic jams. The DMV is expected to start in April 2007. References: cocolico.infoFiled In: |
