Coming as the latest cars that are getting the electric overhaul, the Smart Electric Drive vehicles are likely going to become the latest and greatest in city vehicle design.

Building on the design of the Smart ForTwo and ForFour, the Smart Electric Drive cars offer up to 160km of electric driving range, which will offer ample capabilities for city dwellers.

The Smart Electric Drive cars also feature an advanced recuperation system that has radar technology that faces forward; the car will then interpret what's ahead and draw the energy it calculates it requires. This can be helpful for drivers sitting in traffic that doesn't require additional power.

The Smart Electric Drive vehicles can be charged on UK voltage in six hours and 12 in the US, but this can drop dramatically when using the optional wall box to 2.5-hours.
