One Fan of Obscure Dreamcast Game Ikaruga Put Together a Fake Movie Trailer

The harder of hardcore nerds out there may remember an somewhat obscure Dreamcast game by the name of Ikaruga. Ikaruga was an insanely difficult space shooting game that has gained a huge cult following since its release in Japanese arcades and on the ill-fated Sega Dreamcast.

There’s so much of the cult following for the Dreamcast game that fans are not only still playing and talking about it, but making fake trailers for non-existent movies based on the game. In this case, YouTube user ‘bloodrunsclear’ mashed together a trailer of several Sci-Fi movies to create a trailer that will have fans salivating at the (ridiculously remote) possibilities that a movie version of the game could entail.

Even if you don’t know your Ikaruga from your Gradius, the trailer itself is a fantastic example of clever editing and poking fun at Sci-Fi movie tropes. Not bad for a decade old Dreamcast game. Stats for Fan-Made Game Trailers Trending: Older & Chilly
