A scene from a book-turned-series is what the Dragon Mask by GingerELA represents. It is a fantastical concept and story from the Game of Thrones that influenced the form, the color and the materiality of the elaborate smoking contraption.

The moment when the intriguing character Daenerys is burnt alive with her dragon eggs and subsequently emerges unscathed from the ashes with her newborn monsters is interpreted into a functional bong. Fiery red and charcoal black represent the flames and the embers while the curling serpentine shapes mimic the meandering path of smoke towards the sky. Feathers and spikes elude to the physical features of the mythical reptiles.

Assistance is needed to operate the substantial and complex Dragon Mask by GingerELA that incorporates a percolator in its base, an imaginative monocle and an elegant S-shaped mouthpiece.
