Producers of British TV drama Downton Abbey plan to launch later this year a clothing line inspired by the show's iconic English period fashions. NBC Universal and Carnival Films are teaming up to give the audience a wearable WWI-inspired fancy, chic and stylish apparel line adapted from the luxurious costumes of the actors for the every-day girl of 2013. With hundreds of weekly views, Downton Abbey has one of the highest predicted retail potentials of any TV show. The launch also comes in perfect timing with North America's obsession with British culture.
The fashion line is set to be the first product release of many Downton Abbey-inspired spin-off lines including furniture, cookware, beauty and stationary. Will bonnets, lace and pearls be all the range next season? Stay tuned for an update!
