I recently saw these recycled iron and pressed metal leaves and branches in a magazine, and was astonished at the $34.95 price tag. While the hand-painted rustic crackle finish in green, rust and orange look great, DIY types can spare themselves the money and easily make a similar piece of creative art themselves.

All it takes is a few dried branches (wheat actually works beautifully), some decorative ribbons (which you’ve likely already unpacked from your Christmas back) and a wall to hang them on. Another neat option is to coat them with glitter, gold or silver spray paint.
