These Images Prove That a Whole is Only as Good as the Sum of the Parts

These dissected photos will leave you amazed -- and probably scratching your head. Artist Michael Mapes creates beautiful pieces by dissecting the images into parts and using different materials.

After getting over my sheer amazement the first time I looked at this, I was reminded of the television show Art Attack. I love Art Attack but these images are just so intricate and complex that I don't feel Art Attack is a just comparison.

The images themselves make up Victorian looking photos and if they were one single image, they would definitely be considered a piece of fine art. The images as they stand now look to have millions of pieces all perfectly and meticulously arranged so as to create the image that we get to see. I can't even begin to think of how long this must have taken and the patience needed to create these dissected photos. Stats for Dissected Design Photos Trending: This Year & Buzzing
