8 Trax, The Adventurer’s Club, Mannequins Dance Palace, BET Sound Stage Club, Motion, and The Comedy Warehouse will all be removed from Disney’s Pleasure Island.
Downtown Disney, the Florida home of Pleasure Island, is being reworked or ‘reimagined,’ as Disney calls it. The clubs will be closed down on Saturday and stay closed for the foreseeable future.
The clubs were part of the nightlife at Pleasure Island, which opened in 1989. Since then, the area has gathered a loyal following of tourists and locals. Many enjoyed the area's "New Year's Eve Every Night" celebration.
Disney officials have not given out any details about the long-term plans for Pleasure Island. They have promised an announcement will be made in the "near future."
