Sarah Palin on SNL Presidential Bash ‘08

Many Americans, myself included, were surprised to see Sarah Palin make a surprise appearance on Monday’s Saturday Night Live Presidential Bash ‘08. To say that her guest appearance spot was lame is an understatement.

The segment featuring the real Sarah Palin on SNL’s Presidential Bash was poorly done and written; she appeared stiff, irritated, and did not look happy to be there. Attempts to garner laughs from saying she’d pull NBC’s license if SNL continues poking fun of her when she swears in as Vice President on January 20th resulted in hardly any laughs from the audience, and not even a chuckle from me. Instead, my reaction was more along the lines of, “What the...?”

In typical Saturday Night Live fashion, the “best” skits (mostly flashbacks) were done within the first half-hour of the show and then it goes down hill from there. Not even previous political skit picks were funny, which is also another SNL downfall. Have you ever seen their “Best of...” DVD’s?  They’re horrible.

I think Saturday Night Live should have left on their October high-note instead of going the extra mile to mock politicians, because it has been seriously overplayed. Time for SNL to get back to their regularly scheduled programming. Stats for Disappointing Political Sketches Trending: Older & Mild
