Researchers from the University of Toronto worked together on the concept of Direct Manipulation using the video player Dimp.

The player lets you drag items on the video screen to move the video back and forth rather than just using the timeline scroll bar. You’re not really changing the outcome of the video, you are just dragging the video areas that are dedicated to allow you to scroll through the video (a.k.a relative flow dragging).

Some people are already imagining how this player can come in handy when watching porn. Not that I agree with it, I find that to be funny.
