The Diesel Black Gold Fall 2009 collection at New York fashion week was a collision of two opposing trends: the glamorous glitz of sequins reminiscent of the roaring 20s and the heroine-chic look iconic of the grunge look of the 90s.

The Diesel Black Gold Fall 2009 collection featured lots of black and dark fabrics, body-hugging leggings, retro hair-wraps, shiny old-fashioned men’s loafers—for the ladies, plenty of distressed denim and more disheveled hairstyles than we’ve seen flop down the runway in a long time. It was hobo-glam at its best.
