Instead of resting for eternity in a boring park, Cubs fans will now have the option to remain in a Cubs themed cemetery.

If “waiting until next year” for the Cubs to win it all becomes impossible because you are dead, then this is the answer.

It’s the ultimate Cub fan resting place in the Bohemian National Cemetery on Chicago’s North side. “Beyond the Vines” - a reference to the vine covered outfield wall - will be ready to accept fans in October - soon after the fans begin their “wait until next year” chant. Dennis Mascari, the visionary behind the idea, says there will be a stainglass scoreboard and eternal skyboxes.

"When you come to a cemetery to visit a loved one it's usually a pretty sad, gloomy situation," he said, standing on the lawn where the wall will be erected. "But when you come here and visit (what looks like) his home away from home ... Wrigley Field, it's going to be a great feeling for people." (chicagotribune)
