Diane Von Furstengerg’s Spring 2013 show debuted at this year’s New York Fashion Week. Her preference for wrap-around dresses and ladylike prints was turned on its head as she heralded the beginning of a tech revolution in fashion, seen on the runway via her assortment of Google Glasses.
Google Glasses were launched by the multimedia company to facilitate the hands-free display of information. The minimalist design showcases data on weather, sports and daily meeting schedules before one’s eyes.
While Google likely viewed its product in scientific terms only, the DVF label has deemed the design to be a chic must-have accessory. Busy on-the-go women will certainly benefit from Google Glasses’ organizational capacities, even if they disagree with its supposedly stylish appearance.
