Dell’s Latitude E-series
[Edit]
Heads up! According to the leak revealed by Engadget, this coming June will be the due date for Dell’s Latitude E-series. A lot of changes have been made, including the new Intel Centrino 2 processor which will be launched at the same time, and also the conducively slimmest design a laptop has ever been. There had also been notes on a different kind of hinge this time, and a different surface, claimed to be ‘brushed metal”.
There are five models that would be launched initially:
E5400 and E5500 – include lower cost parts, having the options for AMD processors like E5400a and E5500a
E6400 ATG – a tougher model which will be taking the place of the Latitude D630 ATG and is suitable for travelers and outdoor people
E6400 ad E6500 – will be using only 14-inch and 15.4-inch designs
The roadmap leak also interprets the coming of the Ultraportable E4200, which is a 12-inch unit, and the E4300, a 13-inch unit. They will come alongside Centrino 2’s second wave this September using ultra-low and low voltage Core 2 processors.
There are no prices indicated yet, but possibly prices for the replacement for the Latitude D-series would be direct.
This is the roadmap for Dell’s releases:
