Who said you can't have flowers in your winter garden? Use this decorative bark mulch technique to create beautiful designs and protect your spring bulbs over winter.
Simply lay down a dark mulch like shredded red fir then use sawdust or light colored wood shavings for the contrast color. The key is to wet it down with a mist as you work and thoroughly ( but gently ) soak it after your design is complete.
Such a simple application with a huge impact, all done in mulch which is good for your garden anyways.

Implications - This decorative bark mulch could be used in commercial and retail planter boxes to further strengthen their brand, product, or logo.  This is perfect for a special event or large promotion, but can be done simply to dress up the exterior over the holiday season.
