Atheists Blow Away Waters of Baptism With Hairdryers

A growing number of atheists in England and around the world wish to register their objection to baptism rites that were often given when they were children. To that end, a grass-roots movement of ‘debaptism’ has taken root.

On the serious side, persons can fill out a form that publicly announces their renunciation of the faith. The information can be entered into church records along with the baptism information.

On the slightly silly side, mock ceremonies are held in which a robed ‘priest’ uses a hairdryer marked ‘reason’ to blow away the waters of baptism once and for all. Stats for Debaptism Ceremonies Trending: Older & Mild
