In case someone forgot to tell you, it’s Day Without a Gay today. On December 10, a community of people against Prop 8 made an online pact to stay home from work, and we’ve got the video evidence here. Participants in the event hoped to “Fight the H8 With Love.” Those who bailed out of their daily work routines to do volunteer work in their community were encouraged not to call in sick, but to “Call in Gay.”  So was this 'Day Without A Gay' a success? There are no estimates yet on how many people participated, but News 5 spoke with several businesses and charities which said they didn't notice a difference.
Gay rights activists said this may not be the last protest of its kind. “I could see in the next couple of years if the need continues to be there, that this could actually become a very big event,” said Drent.
