With the words, “Think pink!” sang by Kay Thompson in the video introduction, the David Dixon Barbie Collection commenced at the 2009 LG Fashion Week, showcasing a flurry of vibrantly pink ensembles, accented with bolts of black and ivory. It was fun, cute, charming—well, Barbie. 

Inspired by both the 1957 movie ‘Funny Face’ and the iconic Barbie doll, the David Dixon Barbie Collection featured a runway rife with flirty and fun designs, ranging from full skirts and big-buttoned coats to polka-dot frocks and zebra-striped party pumps (with socks!). Long and bouncy locks trailed down models’ backs while oversized plastic black glasses gave the girlie outfits a geek-chic twist.
