Scientists developed a humanoid robot named Mahru that can be told to dance and even do common household chores. Mahru has been created to do and mimic common human movements like moving its lips, pupils, and eyebrows. The robot could also its upper and lower body easily, without restriction. As an added feature, it is also programmed to release a certain fragrance, depending on its emotion. Mahru is the first South-Korean robot of its kind and was developed by researchers at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology. The humanoid robot can follow a variety of human movement, through an advanced motion capture device. It can dance while walking and is capable to do common chores like lifting a glass. Invited guests were amazed by Mahrus human-like qualities when the robot was unveiled. Mahru demonstrated full range of its skills, with special highlights on its series of animated dance moves. With Mahru being developed, its creators said that the robot will now open a market for customers who wanted to use robots for their household chores. In addition, the researchers and developers mentioned that another robot of its kind is being designed and created.
