The Varia Vision smart glass attachment, developed by Garmin, are cycling glasses that are designed to put data in the peripheral vision of cyclists who are out and about. This means that cyclists don't have to take their eyes off the road or look at a computer or smartphone display, a distracted act that can result in an accident or worse.

What's great about the Varia Vision is that it can easily be retrofitted onto existing third-party glasses, with its tiny screen situated so as to show up in the bottom of the vision of the cyclist in question. The attachment communicates with smartphones wirelessly and can display navigational prompts, whilst also notifying wearers of calls and text messages.

Ultimately, the Varia Vision uses technology to make cycling easier and safer without intruding on the unique joy of cycling.
