What this example of cup packages does is remind people of an important environmental challenge that often goes overlooked. Products are being designed, manufactured and sold at increasing rates, and thus has packaging become a major eco issue in its material wastefulness.

Here, Alireza Jajarmi presents a solution to wrapping a trio of terracotta tea cups with the least amount of cardboard possible. Her priority was to protect the earthenware from becoming damaged between the factory and the consumer's home. The consequent surfaces provided the space for labeling, and the base integrates a set of wooden coasters that supports the whole carton. The complete form of these cup packages looks well thought out, and certainly makes a statement that more manufacturers should begin to stand by, for both cost and the environmental benefits.
