The Chicago-based multidisciplinary design practice Crucial Detail has created the Porthole infuser to be the perfect vessel for your drink. The team was lead by designer Martin Kastner, who was inspired to create the infuser during a conversation with the bar chefs at the Aviary, preparing for the opening of the restaurant.

According to the Porthole's Kickstarter page, Kastner states that they were discussing "'fast infusions' -- cocktails evolving during the course of the time it takes to serve them -- and it occurred to [him] that what we're really looking for is a window into another world, space, and time."

Inspired by this desire to make an infuser that was reflective of a window, the team at Crucial Detail provided the circular Porthole with glass sides for a spectacular view of imaginative concoctions. The striking design makes it simple to see striking of a variety of time-lapse infusions for: cocktails, oils, teas, dressings, lemonade, coffee, or any other type of infusion.
