In order to ensure that consumers get the most wear possible out of one of Converse's most popular models, the brand revitalized it with 'Counter Climate' technology.

By doing so, Converse gives the sneakers more durability in typical fall and winter environments -- meaning that the Counter Climate sneakers are more suited for walking through rain, snow and salt. The brand makes the Jack Purcell model capably of this by covering it in a 'Shield Canvas' upper, which also makes the sneakers easier to clean.

In addition to giving the Counter Climate update a more durable upper, Converse added extra lining in the sneakers for further comfort and warmth, as well as extended sidewalls so that the exterior is more protective to the wearer. Despite all the changes to it, the Counter Climate Jack Purcell sneakers look much like the original, making the swap more simple for the brand's loyal consumers.
